Shah Rukh Khan’s tribute to Yash Chopra on his 91st birth anniversary: “He would be so happy for me”

In the realm of Indian cinema, the name Yash Chopra is synonymous with timeless romance, and his enduring legacy continues to captivate the hearts of movie enthusiasts. On September 27, marking what would have been his 91st birthday, the late legendary filmmaker was honoured with touching tributes from across the film industry. One such tribute came from none other than Shah Rukh Khan.

On Wednesday, Shah Rukh Khan, currently basking in the success of his latest release, Jawan, took to social media for an #AskSRK session, where he eagerly interacted with his fans. Amidst the flurry of questions, one fan posed a simple yet meaningful query: "One word for Yash Chopra Sir on his birthday #AskSRK @iamsrk."

SRK’s response encapsulated the profound bond he shared with the legendary filmmaker. He replied, "Love Yash ji and miss him…he would be so happy for me right now."

For the unversed, Shah Rukh and Yash collaborated on a bunch of iconic films, including Darr, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, and Jab Tak Hai Jaan, among others.

Coming back to the professional front, as mentioned above, Shah Rukh is currently seen in the Atlee directorial, Jawan. The film also features Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. His next film, Dunki, is scheduled to release on Christmas this year. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, it will also star Taapsee Pannu in the lead.
