Sharvari Wagh reacts to underwhelming performance of Vedaa: “I believe the film had its intentions in the right place”

Sharvari Wagh, the rising star who has captured hearts with her performances in films like Munjya and Maharaj, recently faced a new challenge with the release of Vedaa. Despite critical acclaim for her powerful portrayal of a girl fighting against caste oppression, the film struggled to make a significant impact at the box office, competing with the blockbuster success of Stree 2 and also Khel Khel Mein.

In a recent interview with India Today, Sharvari opened up about the film's performance, emphasizing that while she was proud of her work, the box office results were beyond her control. “For me, Vedaa was a labour of love. I poured my heart and soul into the role, and I believe the film had its intentions in the right place," she shared. As a relatively new face in the industry, Sharvari acknowledged that she was still learning the intricacies of the film business and the factors that contribute to commercial success.

The character required her to delve into a world unfamiliar to her, understanding the nuances of caste discrimination and the challenges faced by marginalized communities. “It was a demanding role, both physically and emotionally,” she admitted. “The fact that I was able to connect with the audience and receive positive feedback is a testament to the hard work and dedication I put into the performance.” Despite the film's box office struggles, Sharvari remained optimistic about her future. She emphasized that her focus was on delivering impactful performances and connecting with audiences on an emotional level. “I believe that if you do your job well, the rest will follow,” she stated. “I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had so far, and I'm excited to see what the future holds.” On the professional front, Sharvari Wagh will next star in Shiv Rawail’s Alpha alongside Alia Bhatt, which is a part of YRF Spy Universe.
