As Baahubali: The Epic hits theatres on October 31, actor and voice artist Sharad Kelkar looked back on his journey of lending his powerful voice to Prabhas’ iconic character in Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017). The two films, directed by S.S. Rajamouli, have been re-edited and remastered into one grand cinematic experience titled Baahubali: The Epic, promising fans an immersive visual and sound upgrade on the big screen.
Sharad Kelkar, whose deep and resonant voice became synonymous with the Hindi version of Baahubali, shared his thoughts on revisiting the monumental saga that redefined Indian cinema. “When Baahubali first released, it created a legacy of its own. Even after nearly a decade since the first installment, the magic around it still lives on. Giving voice to Prabhas’ character was a proud moment in my career, and I wanted every word to echo the film’s grandeur. To relive that journey again with Baahubali: The Epic feels surreal and nostalgic — almost like stepping back into Mahishmati all over again,” Sharad shared.
Voicing Baahubali marked a significant chapter in Kelkar’s career, showcasing his ability to add depth, emotion, and intensity to a large-scale epic. His commanding delivery helped elevate the Hindi version’s emotional resonance, contributing to the franchise’s widespread success and solidifying his reputation as one of India’s finest voice performers.
Baahubali: The Epic is a re-cut, 3-hour-45-minute version of the two original films, seamlessly combined for a renewed theatrical experience. With enhanced sound design, restored visuals, and upgraded formats including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, ICE Immersive, D-Box, and Epic, the film invites audiences to relive the grandeur of Mahishmati on the biggest screens once again.
Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, and Sathyaraj, the film continues to celebrate Rajamouli’s storytelling legacy — now brought to life once more through Sharad Kelkar’s unforgettable voice that has become an integral part of Baahubali’s history.
