Readers would be recall that this biographical drama based on the life of a prostitute, Ganga Jagjivandas Kathiawadi earned a lot of appreciation for bringing people back to the theaters after the pandemic. With Gangubai Kathiawadi completing one year of its release, leading lady Alia Bhatt decided to take to Instagram to dedicate a post in memory of the film. She posted a photo of her posing with Sanjay Leela Bhansali as she added, “One year of our Gangu <3 #gangubaizindabad #ganguwalasafed <3” She also posted white heart emojis indicating the love that her character Gangu had for the color. He had said, “Teen films jinke performances mujhe impact kiya hai (The three films whose performances impacted me the most), Allu Arjun in Pushpa, Alia Bhatt in Gangubai Kathiawadi and I would say RRR. These three movies impacted me a lot as an audience. Even as an actor, it’s like wow, if I get characters like these, it would be so nice!” Gangubai Kathiawadi also featured Jim Sarbh, Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa, Indira Tiwari, among others in supporting roles along with Ajay Devgn in a powerful cameo.
