The film, helmed by Atlee and featuring an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi with a special appearance of Deepika Padukone, clinched the Best Actor, and Best Director accolades, sending fans into a frenzy of celebration.

As the announcement for the Best Director award was announced, Atlee can be seen rising from his seat as his name is called. Yet, instead of proceeding directly to the stage, he turns to Shah Rukh Khan and touches his feet before making his way to accept the coveted award.

Atlee made his Bollywood debut with the action-packed thriller Jawan, which hit screens on September 7 last year. With its global earnings surpassing an impressive Rs. 1,100 crore, the film became SRK’s second hit of 2023.
Currently, Atlee is currently immersed in his debut Bollywood production, Baby John. A high-octane action drama, the film is reportedly a remake of his 2016 Tamil blockbuster Theri. Co-produced by Atlee himself, the film boasts a star-studded ensemble cast led by the versatile Varun Dhawan in the titular role, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and a special appearance by Sanya Malhotra, along with Sheeba Chaddha and Rajpal Yadav.
