Kriti Sanon on working with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu in Crew, “It was refreshing to work with women, they can do comedy very well”

There have been a lot of comic films based on three male friends. The ones that come to our minds are Dil Chahta Hai, Masti, No Entry, 3 Idiots, etc. But Bollywood hasn’t seen many out-and-out comedies where three females are the leads. That is one of the reasons why Kriti Sanon enjoyed working on Crew, which, apart from her, stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu.

Speaking at the film’s trailer launch, Kriti said, “We always get to work with men mostly and it was very, very refreshing to work with women. Women who are so, so talented and who I have admired for years. And I think we all look up to them on what they bring to the table and the fact that they have been reinventing themselves and how.”

She added, “I think the way this film is written and the way these characters are; there is so much life and there is so much chemistry between these three. I think what the people are loving and what I am hearing is the chemistry in general.”

Kriti also said that Crew, which is directed by Rajesh Krishnan, is miles away from being an issue-based female-centric film. “Whenever there is a film with all female cast, people tend to think that it’s very serious or it will be based on an issue or there will be men bashing. There is nothing of that sort, as you can see women can do comedy very, very well,” she said.

Produced by Ektaa R Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor and also starring Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma, Crew is all set to be released in theatres on March 29.
