Patna Shuklla actress Raveena Tandon reveals the modern-day challenges of women; says, “A large chunk of household responsibilities lies with the woman”

Disney+ Hotstar’s upcoming film, Patna Shuklla takes you on the journey of a fearless lawyer, who takes matters into her own hands when she sees a student entangled in an education scam and soon realizes that she is pitted against a Chief Minister candidate. Raveena Tandon, who plays the character of a diligent housewife and an attorney in the film, opens up about how her character maintains a healthy work life balance while dodging the patriarchal norms.

Elaborating on her character Tanvi Shukla, Raveena Tandon said, “'Work life balance' has become a life necessity in today's fast-paced world. While the norms of the world are changing for women where the responsibilities at home are divided but still a large chunk of getting it all together yet lies with the woman of the house. Tanvi Shukla's struggles are the same, finding balance between managing household and expectations at work.”

She continued, “In a sea of male attorneys, she has to find her place and prove herself worthy of important cases. Every day at work she dodges compliments wrapped in patriarchy without tarnishing her spirits. This is yet the case for a lot of actresses and I too, have faced this patriarchy multiple times in my career. I think that is the most relatable part for all the women out there. However, achieving this balance isn't a burden to any woman I'm sure, it comes naturally to them and that's the beauty of every woman's unbreakable spirit.”

Bringing to screens a scam unlike ever seen before - Patna Shuklla dives into the education scam of fake roll numbers that affects the lives of thousands of earnest students in India. Embark on the journey of a a small-time lawyer and homemaker who is thrown in the deep end of fighting for justice for a victim of an education scam with her uncommon grit as her sole weapon in this battle.

Produced by Arbaaz Khan Productions and directed by Vivek Budakoti, the courtroom drama begins streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from March 22, 2024 onwards.
