Shekhar Suman recently reported that Farida Jalal would faint during DEkh BHai Dekh sets.

Shekhar Suman is preparing for his OTT debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus show Heeramandi. The actor is also well-known for his role in the 1990s sitcom Dekh Bhai Dekh. Shekhar revealed in an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel that actors on the sets of the comedy series would faint while filming.

Shekhar recounted how the cast and crew worked hard on the sets with no fans or air conditioning. He stated, “They used to take long shots lasting 10-20 minutes. The doors were closed on all four sides. It was our first time shooting with multiple cameras, many large lights, and no fans or air conditioning. Aadmi bhun kar, tal kar, barbaad ho kar bahar nikalta tha but nobody complained.”

Sharing an alarming incident from the sets of the show, Shekhar added, “When I turned to give a cue to a co-actor, I saw she had fainted. Then, when I looked at Farida ji (Farida Jalal), I saw she was also lying there.”

Shekhar made his acting debut in Girish Karnad's Utsav, which co-starred Rekha, Shankar Nag, Amjad Khan, and Shashi Kapoor. He rose to prominence with his humorous late-night chat shows Movers & Shakers, Simply Shekhar, and Carry On Shekhar. Shekhar later served as a judge on two standup comedy shows, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and Comedy Circus. Shekhar was last seen in the film Bhoomi (2017), starring Sanjay Dutt and Aditi Rao Hydari.

Shekhar plays the role of Nawab Zulfikar in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi. The period drama series also stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Fardeen Khan in significant roles. Shekhar's son Adhyayan also has an important role in the show as Nawab Zoravar.
