In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Taran Adarsh broke down the factors behind the impressive success of Munjya at the box office. The film, which has captivated audiences and drawn packed theatres since its release, has become one of the most notable hits of the season.
Adarsh pointed out that Munjya was released at a time when audiences were eager for fresh content that differed from the typical blockbuster formula. He said, “Maddock has mastered the art of balancing horror and comedy and most importantly making a film within a stipulated budget and audience are loving it. A lot of people think, what was so special about Munjya that it became a huge success and achieved a business worth 100 crores.”
He added, “In Munjya you can see, it has added a horror element and comedy too but at the same time there is a lot of freshness to it. There’s something new and I think that works. It is a well packaged entertainer that's more important. Most importantly in Munjha also he has created a brand or now you never know tomorrow Munjha 2 may come.”
Taran explained that when a movie becomes a hit, there’s a desire to build on its success. “Stree has already become a brand. When a movie becomes a hit then you want to take it further and use it and there are many such films are coming. Bhediya is also coming and one or two or three more are coming, let them announce it officially. So the shooting of which has also started and when they will officially announce it, it will be better,” he stated.
