Post their divorce, there were a lot of speculations around the reason behind their split. Samantha Ruth Prabhu was called gold digger and what not. Overtime, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya moved on and so did their fans. But Minister Konda Surekha's latest remarks claiming the reason for their divorce got people talking again. Telangana Minister Konda Surekha made some remarks stating that it was because of KTR that Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya's divorce took place. In a viral video, Konda Surekha can be heard talking about KTR meddling with celebrities' lives. In a shocking statement, she said, "Naga Chaitanya's divorce took place 100 per cent due to KTR. This is because to not demolish N Convention hall, you had to send Samantha to me. Nagarjuna had forced Samantha to go (to KTR) and they said that either you listen to us or give us a divorce," as reported by IndiaToday.com. This led to a social media furore with Samantha's fans slamming Konda Surekha. Even major celebrities like Jr NTR, Nani and more slammed Konda Surekha for her comments and made it entertainment news. After the widespread criticism, Konda Surekh took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to retract the comments made on Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya's divorce. In Telugu, she wrote that her statement were not against Samantha Ruth Prabhu but were in reference to how KTR belittles woman. She praised Samantha by stating that she is admirable given how she has grow-up with self power. She did not apologise but 'unconditionally retracted her statement'.

Now, if latest reports are to be believed, Nagarjuna is planning to take a legal action against Konda Surekha for the remarks made against his family.
