Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya's divorce has again become a topic of discussion because of Telangana minister Konda Surekha. The politician made shocking claims that their divorce happened due to KT Rama Rao, aka KTR. Both Samantha and Chay strongly reacted to Surekha's statements and even slammed her for making such wrong speculations. But some netizens are disappointed with Chaitanya for a reason. Naga Chaitanya took to his social media page to slam Konda Surekha for her controversial statements on his divorce with Samantha Ruth Prabhu. In the post, the actor mentioned how the divorce was painful and one of the most unfortunate decisions he had to take in his life. Just like Samantha, the Dhootha actor wrote that it was a mutual decision: "After a lot of thought, a mutual decision was made by me and my former spouse to part ways. It was a decision made in peace, owing to our different life goals and in the interest of moving forward with respect and dignity as two mature adults." However, some netizens are not happy how Chay has addressed Samantha as "former spouse" instead of directly taking her name. On social media platform X (formerly Twitter), one person wrote, "former spouse. guy cant even spell Sam. Good that atleast he's taking a stand now." Another wrote, ""Former spouse," "earlier spouse" anything but saying her actual name. Respect so deep that he threw her to the wolves who have shamed her in every possible way."

Meanwhile, in her post, Samantha Ruth Prabhu also mentioned that their divorce was a mutual decision. The Family Man 2 star wrote, "Our choice to keep things private doesn't invite misrepresentation. To clarify: my divorce was mutual consent and amicable, with no political conspiracy involved. Could you please keep my name out of political battles? I have always remained non-political and wish to continue doing so." After both stars and several Telugu stars slammed Konda Surekha, she issued an apology. However, she later questioned how the reason for their separation is not known yet. In her new statements, the politician again slammed KTR.
