In an interview with ANI, Vikrant Massey opened up about how The Sabarmati Report covers the 2002 Godhra incident from the eyes of journalists. “This film raises questions not only about the incident but also about journalism. What kind of journalism was done at the time? Why was the truth hidden, and how was it hidden? It shows how one incident in our country changed the political mindset and the atmosphere overnight. Journalism is the fourth pillar of our country, and the film explores what impact it had on the people and the nation,” the actor shared.
Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd presents, A Vikir Films Production, The Sabarmati Report starring Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Ridhi Dogra, is based on the train burning incident in Godhra that happened in 2002. Directed by Dheeraj Sarna and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan, the film is a worldwide wide release by Zee Studios and will be hitting theatres on November 15, 2024.
