Zoya Afroz describes her journey ‘long yet fulfilling’ as she reflects on her career as a child artist, pageant winner, and now an actor

Recently after celebrating 25 years of Hum Saath Sath Hai, model-turned-actress Zoya Afroz also announced her upcoming film on Netflix Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, directed by Neeraj Pandey, co-starring Avinash Tiwary. Paired opposite Avinash Tiwary in the thriller drama series also starring Tamannaah Bhatia and Jimmy Shergill, Zoya Afroz expressed her gratitude for the opportunity.

Zoya Afroz shared, “As we recently celebrated 25 years of Hum Saath Saath Hai, I was taken down the memory lane. I revisited old photo albums from my early days into acting. Cut to next day we announce my upcoming film on Netflix. It is a long yet fulfilling journey. I am honoured to be trusted for Sikandar Ka Muqaddar by our brilliant director Neeraj Pandey, it has been an enriching experience on the sets.”

Last week, Zoya had taken to social media to celebrate the release of Hum Saath Saath Hai, which completed two and half decades last week. Along with a photo of her rewatching the film, she also penned a note, recalling her memories associated with it as she added, “25 Years of Hum Sath Sath Hai is nothing less than a gentle reminder of how far I’ve come. I can safely say I’ve grown up “filmy” and loved absolutely every bit of it. I am eternally grateful to Rajshri Productions for making me a part of such a big blockbuster, and giving me an opportunity to experience a Masterclass in acting on set everyday with some of the biggest names of the business ever. Even if it’s the Silver Jubilee of Hum Sath Sath Hai, this film and the experience of working on it will forever be gold.”

For the unversed, Zoya Afroz featured in the film as Radhika Pandey, the young daughter of Neelam and Mahesh Thakur who played Sangeeta and Anand Pandey respectively.  After stepping into the world of Showbiz as a child actor in films like Hum Saath Saath Hai, Mann, Kuch Na Kaho amongst others, Zoya made her mark in the pageantry.

She returned to Hindi movies in 2014 with the Himesh Reshammiya starrer The Xpose. And now, she is looking forward to Neeraj Pandey’s Sikandar Ka Muqaddar on Netflix which will premiere on the platform on November 29. Apart from that, Zoya will also be seen in a theatrical rom-com alongside Pearl V Puri titled Objection My Lord.
