Actor Kunal Kemmu recently recalled a traumatic incident from 12 years ago when an intruder attempted to break into Soha Ali Khan’s residence. His revelation comes just weeks after his brother-in-law, Saif Ali Khan, was attacked and stabbed by an intruder in Mumbai. Speaking about these incidents, Kunal shared his thoughts on safety and personal security.
A Close Call: Kunal Kemmu’s Face-off with a Burglar In an interview with ANI, Kunal Kemmu reflected on the 2011 burglary attempt at Soha Ali Khan’s Khar apartment. He recounted waking up in time to confront the intruder and prevent the robbery. “Unfortunately, I was in a similar situation about 12 years ago when there was a break-in at Soha's house, and I was there. And again, there was a burglary. I happened to wake up in time to fight the guy, catch him, and take him to the police station,” he said.
Kunal explained that the break-in occurred late at night while he and Soha were inside the residence. The burglar tried to flee after losing his balance, but Kunal managed to overpower him and hand him over to the authorities. This incident took place when Kunal and Soha were dating, and it left a lasting impression on the actor. Safety Concerns: Kunal Kemmu’s Perspective Reflecting on these events, Kunal explained the importance of staying vigilant but also stated that such incidents do not define Mumbai’s overall safety. “These are those one or two incidences that will happen. We'll have to be careful. You can't say that the city is safe, so I can lie down in the street with jewellery, and nothing’s going to happen. So we have to protect ourselves and our family to the best of the ways that we can,” he explained. Saif Ali Khan’s Stabbing Incident Last month, Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an intruder, later identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad, who allegedly entered his home intending to commit theft. During the confrontation, Saif sustained stab wounds and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for treatment. The incident raised concerns about security among Mumbai’s residents.
