Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub opens up about Kanneda; says, “My character is different - he stands with the system, not against it”

JioHotstar’s upcoming entertainer Kanneda is all set bring to the viewers a gripping crime thriller that explores the intersection of power, law, and survival. Directed by Chandan Arora and produced by Jar Pictures, the series boasts a compelling ensemble cast, featuring Parmish Verma, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Ranvir Shorey, Arunoday Singh, Aadar Malik, and Jasmin Bajwa.

At the center of Kanneda is Rawat, played by Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, a law enforcement officer navigating a dangerous world where crime and ambition collide. Unlike the conventional protagonists in crime dramas, Rawat does not operate outside the law—he upholds it. His character is a stark contrast to the criminals and power players around him, creating an ongoing battle where each choice carries weighty consequences. As drug syndicates and power struggles unfold, Rawat’s resolve is tested in ways that blur the lines between justice and survival.

Speaking about his role, Zeeshan Ayyub shared, “It's not like my character is part of a high-stakes world with the ambition to survive. I am a cop, so it becomes a high-stakes job, but not in the way you might expect. My character is different from those around him—he stands with the system, not against it. Rawat wants to set things right. He may allow people some space to live their lives, but when it comes to serious issues like drugs, he will take all necessary steps to stop it and fight until the end.”

With a fast-paced narrative, unexpected twists, and a realistic portrayal of crime and law enforcement, Kanneda promises to be a compelling watch. As Rawat battles forces larger than himself, the show dives deep into the cost of justice, loyalty, and survival in an unforgiving world. The web-series premieres exclusively on JioHotstar on March 21, 2025.
