After the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) cleared her in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, Rhea Chakraborty stepped out in public for the first time on Monday. She was accompanied by her father, Indrajit Chakraborty, and brother, Showik Chakraborty, as they visited a temple in Mumbai.
Multiple photos and videos of the family outside Siddhivinayak Temple surfaced on social media. In one clip, the trio was seen heading towards the temple. They also posed with folded hands for the paparazzi. Rhea wore a green and pink floral suit for the visit, while Showik chose a white kurta paired with denim.
On Saturday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a closure report on the 2020 death of Sushant Singh Rajput. The 34-year-old actor was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020, sparking widespread controversy. The case was later transferred to the CBI for investigation. His postmortem, conducted at Mumbai's Cooper Hospital, confirmed asphyxia as the cause of death.
Rhea's lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, reaffirmed that she had no connection to Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Speaking to the media, he stated, “I have been saying from the first day that Rhea Chakraborty had nothing to do with Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Still, on 27th July 2020, someone filed a complaint against her and that is why the investigation started. After that, we approached the Supreme Court.”
He noted that although Sushant was living with 2-3 servants and flatmates at the time of his death, his family still accused Rhea. They filed a case in Patna, alleging she misappropriated Rs 15 crores of his property, which ultimately led the Supreme Court to transfer the investigation to the CBI.
