Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Rakul Preet Singh, Meezaan Jafri, director Anshul, producers Bhushan Kumar, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg attended the trailer launch of their film, De De Pyaar De 2, in Delhi-NCR. The event was held in Gurugram’s Devgn Cinex (erstwhile NY Cinemas), which is incidentally also run by Ajay Devgn.
Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the news that De De Pyaar De 2’s makers have gone for a novel twin city launch exercise. Accordingly, the trailer was launched in Gurugram in the afternoon, while it’ll be launched in Mumbai in the evening of October 14, that is, the same day. The digital drop will happen at 7:00 pm, at the same time when it’ll be shown to the Mumbai media.
The trailer is not out yet, but it has come to light from the discussions at the trailer launch in Delhi that Meezaan Jafri has recreated Ajay Devgn’s iconic Phool Aur Kaante (1991) pose. On this, Meezaan said, “He (Ajay Devgn) guided me and helped me throughout the whole process. I am super grateful that I got a chance to work with this team. I would like to thank Bhushan sir, Anshul sir and Luv sir. I want to especially thank Anshul for helping me bring out my performance. It's truly an honour to be standing on stage with my fellow co-stars. I thoroughly enjoyed the process.”
He further said about the scene in question, “To be honest, I was very nervous. It’s an iconic pose that belongs to sir. I was just grateful that they gave me the opportunity to do something like that in the film. At the end of the day, the credit goes to the makers for writing such a scene and letting me do it. I tried to do it as much as I could. Sir (Ajay Devgn) actually helped me a lot in the scene. I hope people like it. It is actually an impactful entry scene.”
Incidentally, De De Pyaar De 2 also stars Meezaan Jafri’s father, Jaaved Jaaferi. Meezaan said, “It is the first time I am working with my father and it was a lovely experience. I am not going to say much. I want you all to watch what happens in the film.”
At this point, Ajay Devgn joked, “It was a lovely experience for him on the set. Off the set, he kept running away from his father!”
De De Pyaar De 2 releases in cinemas on November 14.
