Bollywood star Alia Bhatt recently expressed heartfelt gratitude after winning the Best Actor (Leading Role – Female) award at the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 for her performance in the film Jigra. Unable to attend the ceremony in Ahmedabad, she shared a special video message with Filmfare.
In her message, Bhatt noted the significance of this win for several reasons. Firstly, it marked her first theatrical film as a co-producer under her banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions, in collaboration with Dharma Productions. “It felt truly full circle coming together with Karan and the Dharma Productions team for this movie.” she said.

Bhatt also spoke about the emotional connection she shares with the film and the people involved. “It’s special because of the people that I met on the journey. Thank you so much Vasan Bala for choosing me to be Satya and giving me this film. Thank you so much Vedang for being the most wonderful co-actor and my on-screen brother. I really had a very special time shooting this film and it’s something that I will always keep very close to my heart.” she said.
What touched many of her fans most, however, was her dedication to someone she called her “real-life Jigra”. In her own words: “I’ll always be thankful for my real-life Jigra, Shaheen for being my calm through it all.”
With this win, Alia Bhatt not only added another prestigious trophy to her shelf, but also underscored the importance of personal support systems and meaningful collaborations behind the scenes. Her acknowledgment of sister Shaheen Bhatt reflected both gratitude and a celebration of shared success in an industry driven by teamwork, trust and ambition.
