Rakul Preet Singh has been basking in the success of De De Pyaar De 2. Her portrayal of Ayesha — lively, self-assured, and emotionally grounded — has resonated strongly with viewers. The film, led by Ajay Devgn, with Meezan Jafri and R Madhavan in key roles, benefits greatly from Rakul’s energetic screen presence and the ease with which she transitions between drama and light-hearted moments. Her dynamic with Ajay Devgn and Meezaan drew warm response from audiences, while her scenes with R Madhavan added a layered emotional dimension to the narrative.
In a recent interaction, Rakul shared one of her most cherished behind-the-scenes memories from the film — a moment of encouragement she received from R Madhavan after the widely appreciated highway sequence. Recalling the exchange, she said, “He said, ‘People can’t stand in front of me, so what you did yesterday… you have no idea what you’ve done.’ And I was like, ‘Huh? What have I done?’ He continued, ‘You have no idea what you did yesterday, and I just want to tell you—make wise choices. Believe in yourself, girl. You are more than you think… make your own path.’ I was so overwhelmed by that thought because he didn’t have to say all this to me. He could’ve just said, ‘Yes, very good, the shot is done.’ But instead, he took 24 hours, came back the next day, and explained it to me.”
Rakul noted that the gesture stayed with her as it reflected genuine appreciation for the effort she put into the scene. Rather than simple praise, the thoughtful advice illustrated how much Madhavan valued the work being done on set, offering her an encouraging reminder about trusting her instincts and choices as an actor.
De De Pyaar De 2, also featuring Gautami Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, and Jaaved Jaaferi, released earlier this month. For Rakul, the journey ahead includes Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, where she stars alongside Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, and Wamiqa Gabbi — another film that has already begun generating early curiosity.
