Nandish Sandhu reflects on playing professor Dhar in Ziddi Girls; says, “The real answers often lie in the grey”

Nandish Sandhu has played diverse roles across his career, from his breakout role in Uttaran to Super 30 and Jubilee. With each project, he immerses himself in his character, aiming to create a distinct on-screen presence. His latest role as Professor Dhar in Ziddi Girls presents a character defined by wisdom, quiet strength, and a belief in independent thought.

In Ziddi Girls, Nandish Sandhu plays Professor Dhar, a mentor who encourages students to think independently rather than imposing ideologies. He values stories, discussions, and reflections over spoon-feeding answers. His bond with the students is built on mutual respect and understanding rather than hierarchy. The character required a balance of authority and warmth, making Dhar more than just a professor—he becomes a guiding force in the students’ lives.

Speaking about the role, Nandish shares that, “There are several aspects of Professor Dhar that I deeply resonate with, some even more than others. What I admire most about him is that he never imposes his opinions. He’s not the kind of professor who spoon feeds answers instead, he presents a situation or narrates a story, allowing his students to arrive at their own conclusions. He sparks thought, gives you something to reflect on, and trusts you to process it in your own time. Like the wise say, life isn’t just black and white, the real answers often lie in the grey. That’s a philosophy I strongly believe in, and so does Professor Dhar.”

In Ziddi Girls, Nandish Sandhu portrays Professor Dhar with a blend of intelligence and emotion, bringing depth to the character. As the series unfolds, Dhar evolves beyond the role of a professor, reflecting the kind of mentor many aspire to have.
